Campaign

America is facing a transportation crisis. The aging and increasingly inefficient transportation system of the last half century can no longer meet the demands of an evolving, global 21st century economy. New trade and economic patterns are developing. Population continues to grow. Commuting and travel patterns are changing. It’s time to take stock of where we are and where we want to be with transportation in the 21st century.

As it has for more than a century, AAA continues to be an advocate for the motorists and travelers who pay a large share of the nation’s transportation bill. As the debate about the future of transportation and how to fund it continues in Washington, AAA is working to ensure that the voice of the motorist is not an afterthought in the discussion. Motorists will likely be asked to reach deeper into their wallets to pay for transportation going forward, so it is imperative that those who pay understand what is being proposed.

The goals of Making America Stronger are to:

  • Inform motorists and the public about the crucial role a safe and well-maintained transportation system plays in our everyday lives and the country’s economic future.
  • Encourage citizens and local, state and federal legislators to get engaged, learn more and get involved as the longer-term transportation authorization debate takes shape in Washington.
